Details:
Comet C/2014 Q1 PANSTARRS on 2015 Aug 2 at 09:00UT. Image at right is digitally processed to reveal detail. My visual estimate through 8x40mm binoculars gave a magnitude of 7.5. The comet displays a mirror image of dust tails! There is a type II dust tail pointing upwards (Eastwards)made from fine dust blown away by solar radiation pressure, and a type III dust "trail" pointing to the right(Northwards) made by coarse dust trailing behind the comets nucleus. The ion tail is too faint to image with my setup. The type III tail will gradually orientate sunwards and on October 2, when the Earth crosses the comets orbital plane, will become an "anti-tail"
