The quest to capture white light images of granulations using Phillipe Tosi's images as the gold standard continues - not there yet but, will keep trying. TS 115mm APO triplet; Baader wedge; ASI120MM; 2.5X Barlow; FireCapture 2.3; Registax 6; PSP7. East/West not reversed. Please use the enlarged window with the dark background for best viewing.

Again, many thanks for your support Bernard. Been thinking - aside from the difference between my 115mm TS APO triplet and yours and Philippes Istar 204mm refractor in terms of resolution given Dawes limit, theres also the issue of focal length. Mine is 800mm and yours is 1725mm which, without Barlows, provides you with more than twice the initial magnification. Its my sense that given equal lens quality, results are better with a longer focal length lens compared to a shorter one with a Barlow added. Would you agree ? All of this assumes similar observing conditions and CMOS/CCD devices with small pixel size.
