Hi Bill
No secrets...;)
A good 204 mm F/8.8 optic from Istar Optical, with good alignement / good interferentiel filters + barlow televue 1.8x and 3x. Good seeing and good camera. You can control the seeing with a SSM but you cant see the jet stream :( so you have to look when the seeing is low for the camera.
regards

Hi Philipe;

I love your WL solar images and the exquisite detail you obtain with granulations. Aside from skill and experience, what is your secret ? My 115mm triplet objective (compared to your 204mm objective) should, according to Dawes limit, achieve only 1/2 the resolution you do. Also, here in the tropics, air turbulence is a major issue when one observes the sun after noon. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Bill

Many thanks Philippe for your response. Please note my comment, meant for both yourself and Bernard, in my July 12 upload. Again your thoughts would be valued. I still feel that your WL granulations are spectacular.

Regards,

Bill
