Details:
I was in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan near the Soo for a few days. I decided to go out to photograph the aurora after the fireworks on July 4th. At about the same time a fog rolled in from Lake Superior so I headed south hoping to get beyond it. I found one opening in the fog and took a couple shots through the fog and haze. To my surprise there was aurora faintly seen through the fog, haze and moon light. On the night of July 5th-6th I shot at Point Iroquois Lighthouse where the aurora caused a purple haze.
