The lesser informed might have mistaken this for a lunar eclipse! The full Moon here in Ohio was obscured by not clouds, but smoke - from the wildfires that have been happening in Canada lately. I'm amazed I got to see this! It's like I get to see an extra lunar eclipse between April and September. Canon Rebel T3i. Used with tripod and 500mm mirror lens. 3.2 seconds exposure at ISO 6400.
