Details:
Dry weather and lightening has sparked hundreds of fires across the state of Alaska. As of Wednesday morning, 545 fires had burned 427,881 acres. Fairbanks has been blanketed in smoke for about a week. The blazing red midnight sun was captured during a rare moment when it emerged from behind the layers of smoke.
