Details:
The most intense aurora I've ever seen. It started with a wall of light between Lake Preston and DeSmet, South Dakota while the moon was still out. From a little after midnight until 1am the lights even rippled directly overhead and I was able to get a shot with both aurora and the Milky Way rising in the southeast. Can't say I expected that in South Dakota!
