Details:
Here's a panorama of a display of noctilucent clouds (NLCs) on the night of June 17-18, 2015, shot from home in southern Alberta looking north. It shows the fine structure present in these displays, and the wonderful colours of the solstice sky at mid-northern latitudes. I used a 135mm telephoto to zoom in on the display along the horizon. This is a stitch of 6 segments, each a 6-second exposure at f/2 and at ISO 800 with the Canon 6D. A very faint aurora is at right. Capella is right of top centre. Fog lies in the valley below, from a cool damp night after a day of rain.
