Details:
I had spent all night shooting deep sky images at the Episcopal Camp and Incarnation Conference Center in Ivoryton, Connecticut. The night was very clear and cool, but some high clouds started to roll right around sunrise just as I was breaking down my equipment. First, I saw a rainbow as the sun peeked over the treeline. Next, I saw the beautiful blue cone-shaped sun pillar. What a treat!
