Details:
This evening witnessed a spectacular sunset caused by aerosols from the Calbuco volcano. Three images taken over a twenty minute period show first a bright orange glow at 5.42 PM, then red magenta and purple crepuscular rays at 5.46 and finally a diffuse lilac purple glow at 6.07 just before dark. The pictures were taken using a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 compact camera in sunset mode with wide angle zoom.
