Details:
Getting to the time of year when its not much effort to stay out all night, and with a relatively mild westerly breeze, that was definitely the case last night. I watched the aurora all the way from the late evening twilight until the emerging dawn. This panorama was taken around the climax of the display, with some vivid purples that typify late spring and summer auroras, when the upper portion of the display is bathed in sunlight. 2 shot panorama taken around 0211 UTC with a Canon 6d, 24mm lens, f2.8, ISO3200, 8 second exposures.
