Details:
What a stunning eclipse this was, a red Moon over the red rocks of Monument Valley on the Utah-Arizona border. This was a beautiful celestial sight seen and captured at one of the most dramatic scenic sites on the planet. Here are three images: one a multi-exposure composite showing the partial phases flanking the brief total phase; a two-image composite of the eclipsed Moon setting into the brightening sky over the mesa; and a single-exposure taken as the sky was turning blue from dawn and as the Moon was about the set behind the mesa. I shot these from Tear Drop Arch Mesa at the western end of Monument Valley.
