Nice and red. Had a full eclipse here in CA but not as red as yours.

Thank you for this image, and your words. I live in SD, where Ive seen many lunar eclipses. Ones at dawn or dusk are really special, Ive seen two beautiful ones with the sun and moon on opposite horizons and earths shadow plainly cast on the moon. I was so looking forward to this one, told all my friends how fabulous it might be, and was disappointed all the news stories about it focused on how short totality would be, never a mention of the apparition Ive described. As these photos reflect--most are of the moon near or at full eclipse, against a dark sky. Since for me and all my neighbors the moon cruelly disappeared behind clouds just as totality began, I really appreciate this image.

For brightmstar7--I think the reddish color in the moon in this image may be somewhat from the atmosphere at the photo site. Some is from the penumbra, yes, but since the moon is low in the sky here, some of that color is ordinary orange tinge often seen in a rising or setting moon.
