Details:
Big filament today on the solar disk: using the ruler by Guy Buhry and correcting for the curvature near the south-eastern edge, we obtain an estimate of this big filament length of more than 700 000 km, one of the largest Hα filament recorded. Note also the nice high surge prominence at the south-western limb about 90 000 km long!
Full disk photo details: SV60 Ha solar telescope equipped with a SKYnyx2.2M CCD camera. 06:00 UT. Clear sky and good seeing.
