This is the most power- and colorful images this season! It's from the great CME impact between March 17-18, 2015. I'm living just under the aurora oval close to the arctic circle in Swedish Lapland. I only have to look out of my window to see this and about 75 meter down to the lake to take pictures of the event! :-)

Absolutely stunning photos Jerry ... best Ive seen from that storm. The colour range is extraordinary ... and the whole glorious effect is sealed by your framing. Top job mate! :) Thanks

Hi Dennis!

Thanks for your nice and kind words! It’s amazing to live here and see the northern lights almost every clear night in the winter time. I’m professional aurora photographer, guiding and learning people about auroras and to find places to see and take pics of this exotic phenomenon.

There is only a few places in the world where it’s comfortable to see it and where I live is one of the best places. The very best place in the world is up in Abisko in Sweden, about 350 km north of where I live.

Why Abisko is the very best is depending on the perfect meteorological conditions. It’s almost always clear weather at that location. Low precipitation and non intrusive lighting under a clear sky. If I can see auroras 3-4 nights a week they will see it nearly 7 nights a week in Abisko.

Regards MagnuM.

Hey MagnuM.

Im not surprised you are a pro photographer :) Your results speak for themselves.

I agree about Abisko. Chad Blackly of Lights over Lapland is a friend and I have spent a good few nights there photographing the N Lights. Im an enthusiastic amateur aurora photographer and try to make it up to somewhere in the Arctic at least once each winter. I spent three weeks travelling around N. Norway in February this year - with mixed success as I only had six clear(ish) nights out of twenty one - although one of them was very good!

Im always looking for fresh locations to shoot the Aurora from, do you have any details of your set up that I could look at?

Best wishes,

Dennis
