Details:
My first total solar eclipse observed from altitude. We had to deal with significant turbulence and therefore attempted handheld coronal spectroscopy. I also took advantage of having 75% of the atmosphere underneath and aimed to get as much outer corona as possible. The image shows steamers out to about 28 solar radii to the west. The plexiglass aircraft windows contributed artifacts to these images. For the corona: Nikon D800, Nikon 180/2.8 lens, f/2.8, ISO 400, 1/8 second; processing in Capture One to enhance outer corona. For the coronal spectrum: Nikon D7000, Nikon 105/2.5 lens, f/2.5, ISO 320 1/320 second; processing in Capture One to enhance solar corona and spectrum.
