Details:
After many failed attempts I finally saw the aurora in Illinois again after waiting over a year. When I found out a geomagnetic storm was going on, I left the house immediately. I got to a good viewing location just minutes before the northern lights were at their brightest. As the lights slowly faded away, thick clouds arrived which ended the night. But I was happy to have seen them even for one hour.
