Details:
A very strong and banded airglow, mostly green (from atomic Oxygen), covered the entire sky in Dec. 22, 2014. It has been also reported worldwide from Dec. 19-25. Many people across Europe, specially at low latitudes, thought they were catching a true aurora! Airglow bands seem to converge (perspective effect) to north and south, like meridian lines.
