Details:
Comet Lovejoy, chasing my Northwest Orient Airliner, NGC 457. North at top, East to the left. I named this neat open cluster this name about 40 yrs. ago, long before it was called the Owl Cluster. To me, especially through a telescope, it resembles a jet, with bright tail lights, and it's oriented N.W. in the sky, hence I named it after the then Northwest Orient commercial jet air liner company! Details:Nikon NEX-6, A.P. 105mm Traveler@f6, 30 sec@ISO12800 on a Celestron CG-5 GT mount. The other wide field pix was taken with an old Minolta 80-160mm f3.5 zoom lens, set at f5.6, 30 sec exp., at ISO 6400, taken the day before on 8Mar2015. Same field orientation. No computer processing, just a single camera exposure.
