Details:
This afternoon I noticed a solar flare in progress around AR 2297, and quickly set up my camera. While imaging I received a notification that this was an M 4.5 flare event, and indeed it required a short 0.68 ms exposure to capture details and prevent over-exposure. A more normal 2.51 ms exposure better captured the rest of the surface and prominence details. I used a double-stacked 90 mm H alpha filter system on a 900 mm focal length telescope. Time approximately 23:48 UTC.
