Details:
What a season, also in february almost every night activity for northern light, visible 19 nights due to cloudy weather. But why so many nights with NL the past 5 months, the Sun was very quiet.Of course there were often sunspots with solarflare activity but usually without CME's.And there were frequently coronal holes. There is this season for me not always a direct correlation between the Sun,the solarwind and nights with visible auroras. Sometimes beautiful northern light when the K index was very low.Once with K index zero.See also the statistics from 2011-2012.And look at polarlightcenter.com/News.
