Details:
I was expecting a fairly dull session. I started at around 16:18 UTC and saw a small bright spot forming near the eastern limb. Between around 16:22 and 16:27 the area erupted and there was a thin pillar rising out of the hot spot. It grew rapidly producing the spike you see in my picture at 16:33. By 16:40, the event was over with the thin column of ejecta drifting off of the surface into space.
Solarmax 60II f/6.6, Canon XTi ISO 800, surface 1/800 sec. prominences 1/250 sec. East and West are reversed.
The surface and prominence shots are 5 layer stacks. Treated with Lynkeos' Lucy-Richardson algorithm and Photoshop for stacking, montage and colour.
