Details:
I traveled south of the Monterey Bay area into the remote Coast Range for some star-gazing near the New Moon. As you guys pointed out, now is a good time to view the Zodiacal Light, and it was quite apparent, looking like a dusty haze rising up from the western horizon and intersecting the Milky Way. Venus and Mars can be seen setting into its glow.
