Details:
My attention was drawn to a bright 'rainbow' reflecting on the car windscreen. I went out into the garden and saw a halo around the sun with a large, vivid 'Upper Tangent Arc' touching the top of the fainter '22 Degree Halo'. How beautiful.

This is a halo phenomenon indeed. Its not the 22 degrees halo with upper tangent arc however, but a bright circumzenithal arc with a section of a 46 degrees halo, most probably the supralateral arc. The 22 degrees upper tangent arc is much closer to the sun (probably being visible behind the tree). Its a great picture!
