Friday January 16 2015, when I get back from work, it was very windy outside ( and cold ! ) but the sky was clear. So I decided to try something with my Sony A7s camera and a 200mm f/4 lens. Why not on a tripod using a high ISO setting and very short exposures to avoid star trails ? I went 30 km West of Ottawa in Pontiac, Qc to avoid as much light pollution as possible ( still not that good but I can't go elsewhere as I've no site to do astronomy in the winter season ). I took 1595 exposures of 2 seconds each with my Sony A7s at ISO 51200 and my old 200mm f/4 Pentax lens. This was maybe my last chance to take that comet. I had to leave my C14 Hyperstar at home because of the wind, impossible to work with a telescope with a 40 km per hour wind. My computer took 9 hours to align and stack all the pictures ( 3 times 1595 imagfes at 71 MB each for a total of 339 Go of data ). I had to wait 9 hours to see if I took the right decision. It was long but I'm very satisfied considering the set up used.
