Details:
The sky was clear for the first time in weeks in Sointula, BC. The sky was reasonably dark at 6:30pm and Comet Lovejoy was visible in the southwest sky for the first time here. To the eye it was just visible and through binoculars it was a fuzzy greenish blob. Through the camera with a long exposure it was delightful, even showing a trace of the tail. The image was a two minute exposure taken with a Pentax K5, O-GPS unit used with AstroTrac function, ISO 800, 135mm f3.5 manual focus lens.
