Taken with a Canon 60D and Sigma 17-70, 8 Seconds, ISO 1600 & F3.5.
In the very early hours of New Years Eve I decided to venture out as the skies were clearing and the geomagnetic activity was higher than normal. The Aurora only visible by camera at first then suddenly the sky came alive with beautiful green and purple all for 20 minutes.
It has taken me 4 years to get this shot. A perfect ending to 2014 and look forward to going again in December this year.
