Details:
Sunday night, Jan 4, was a very clear evening, though lit by the Full Moon. I took some wide-angle shots of Comet Lovejoy (C/2014 Q2) in the moonlight with the comet just west of Orion as Lovejoy moves rapidly north. It appears here as a small green spot at upper right. It was obvious even in 30mm binoculars, despite the moonlight. I shot these from the City of Rocks State Park near Silver City, New Mexico. The Full Moon is just off frame at left. Each photo is a 10 second exposure with a 50mm lens at f/2.8 and Canon 6D camera.

Nice image Alan. Even though the moon makes the comet tough..it provides a nice landscape!
