Details:
Hiked back to the same neighborhood yesterday to photograph the last sunset of 2014 behind the Huckleberry Mountain fire lookout in Glacier National Park, Montana. Using HDR and layering techniques (and an orange solar filter) allows you to see the frost-coated trees and two sunspots. If you click to enlarge, sunspot 2253 is visible on the left and 2246 on the right. I've actually been working on this one for a few weeks now, waiting for the weather to cooperate. When I finally got it on New Year's Eve, is was a balmy +14F, much warmer than the -11F during the comet photo a couple of nights ago. Happy 2015 everyone!
