Details:
On the Eve before New Years Eve, clearing clouds and a brisk night made for a smiley face moonbow around 9pm Tuesday 12/30/14. Meanwhile, just east of the moon, Orion was rising above the moonlit dusting of snow on hemlocks and bare trees.

Beautiful!! Still it is not a moonbow (aka moolight rainbow) but a lunar halo. Really spectacular one!
