Here is a wider angle view of the Comet and M79, taken with the 580 mm focal length refractor. (Ignore the circular arc artifact in the lower left corner). 6 frames, between 12:39 and 12:44 AM, Dec. 29, 2014, after the Moon set. The tail may be suffering a disconnection event (due to the solar wind). Also, a narrower view (2300 mm focal length, f/9).
