Details:
Moonlight interfered a bit with this shot. However, the tail was easier to capture with iso of 3200 (vs. 6400 just 24 hours earlier). Lovejoy is moving faster and faster so had to limit exposures. Tail length on image was about 4.5 degrees long. Specs: iso 3200, f/3.5, 30x30s. Nikon d7100, Nikkor 180mm f/2.8 lens, At my location, Lovejoy was 25 degrees above the southern horizon. Temperature was -7C with windchill of -15C. For more images: http://www.astrobin.com/users/NightSky/
