Details:
After what seemed like months the skies finally cleared on Christmas night in Southeastern Pennsylvania. What a gift seeing this incredibly bright comet only 10-15 degrees above my Southern horizon. At about 7th magnitude, Lovejoy was easily visible in my scope's 6x30mm finder! A comet that truly lives up to the name of its discoverer. I used and Orion Short Tube 80 refractor guided on an iOptron iEQ45 mount and a Canon XS DSLR. One image is a stack of 39 x 70 second subframes aligned on the comet. The second image is a stack of 6 x 70 second subs (ISO800).
