Details:
This was the waxing crescent Moon beside Mars on Christmas Eve, with the pair above Venus which appears low in the twilight. I shot the scene from the City of Rocks State Park in southern New Mexico, on a crisp and calm, but snowless, Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas to all !! Technical -- This is a high dynamic range stack of 5 images to compress the wide range of exposure values into one image. I blended them with Photoshop, with the HDR Pro function and using Adobe Camera Raw to tone-map the images in 32-bit mode. It produces a much more natural looking image than many HDR bending methods.
