Details:
It was a beautifully clear night tonight, December 22, for a fine view of the 24-hour-old thin Moon near Venus, low in the southwestern evening sky. Venus is just beginning its spectacular evening star apparition over the winter and spring. The Moon is just beginning its evening appearance for the year-end holiday week. The Moon and Venus hang over Silver City, New Mexico. I shot this with a 135mm telephoto on a Canon 60Da camera.
