Dust trail appears to be near 4d length in wide field image with Canon T4i, 50mm f/2.0, iso 3200, stack of 30X15s image centered on 2014/12/18 UT 08:00. Cropped 9d portion of the field negative image. Comet Lovejoy is moving into Columba. The SkyXPro charts show the field.

Good shot Gary. Were you able to see this with naked eye? Back in Illinois where I live it is still pretty low to see with all the southern sky pollution I have.

Larry, not naked eye yet for my eyes but very close. Easy in any size binoculars and altitude here is 21d at transit. It will get better !
