Details:
In the afternoon I noticed an uptick in solar wind speed. With the magnetic field keeping strongly up North I almost lost hope to see any auroras. In the evening I had a look outside and seeing the sky made me run back inside. Usually I head towards North of Oulu to escape the light polution. Now there was no time and I tried my luck at Vihiluoto where I found dancing auroras above Oulu. The Baltic Sea was frozen and after some rain it worked like a icy mirror. This was literally the icing of the cake on this special day, the Independence Day of Finland.
