Details:
Venus is returning to dusk, but it is still a mere 6.2° away from the Sun, so close that we can see it in Soho`s Lasco C3 images. However, it is also so bright that, in spite of the intense glare of the sun, I could capture it 8° above the southwestern horizon of Rio, some 13 minutes before sunset. The photos were taken with a Sony DSC-HX300 camera from 21:01 to 21:05 UT as the planet approached the northern side of the 1,021 m high Tijuca Peak, located some 6.5 km away.

Great picture of Venus so close to the Sun, saw it a week ago at 4.8 degrees from the Sun.
