On the night first night of our cruise aboard the MS Polarlys, we enjoyed a great display of aurora borealis near Vardo, Norway. This image shows an auroral corona directly overhead. It was taken with a Nikon D800 and 20mm f/2.8 lens, 0.5 seconds at ISO 6400.
The Melita Trip began in Kirkenes and will end in Bergen. I'm very impressed with how bright the aurora are and how they rapidly dance across the sky.
