Details:
Southern hemisphere moonrise, at 5:14 local time, (UT: 19:14:23 22-Sep-2014), 21 minutes after nominal moonrise, 39 minutes before sunrise, moon is 35 hours before new. Canon 5Dmkii, 1/60 sec f1.8 ISO6400 50mm lens. Overall image resized to 20%, detail extracted and placed, arrows placed with imagemagick under Linux. Note that the whole crescent is clear of the horizon, also that the orientation of the crescent is specific to a Southern Hemisphere Moonrise. 2nd image from Panasonic FZ200, 39mm 1/6 sec f2.8 ISO 100, handheld, taken at 5:21. 3rd image, an even earlier crop of the Moonrise.
