Details:
t's fairly active on the surface today with a very large filament in the east. There was a small eruption in AR2172 at 17:54 UTC, a little while after this picture was taken.

Solarmax 60II f/6.6, Canon XTi ISO 800, surface 1/800 sec. prominences 1/250 sec. East and West are reversed.

The surface and prominence shots are 5 layer stacks. Treated with Lynkeos' Lucy-Richardson algorithm and Photoshop for stacking, montage and colour.
