Details:
In this scene from Algonquin Park in North-central Ontario Canada, an annual star party organized by the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada called the Algonquin Adventure is taking place. The approximately 200 degree panorama displays the horizon from the south through to the north-east. The milky way stands tall above misty Mew Lake where campers have come to enjoy the wilderness while the weather still permits. The Northern Lights glow on the horizon, reflecting on the quiet lake. And on the beach with their red-light flashlights (to preserve their night vision) amateur astronomers use their telescopes, their cameras, and their eyes to gaze at the heavens. A perfect night for an end-of-summer star party. Image captured 9:30pm Sept 18, 2014. by Malcolm Park
