Golden-green and Red Aurora over Trillium Lake Oregon. A 15 photo image merged with Microsoft ICE photo stitching produced a near 180 degree panorama. This image taken on September 13th 2014 at 9:40 pm. A prominent red and gold aurora was eye visible near the horizon on either side of Mount Hood. By 10:10 it had faded almost entirely [refer to the next photo, and by 10:20 the rising gibbous moonlight lit the opposite far side of the lake shore. *The Andromeda Galaxy M31 is clearly visible at center right, with the Spiral Galaxy M33 in Triangulum near and below right of Andromeda. A meteor grazed the upper left center top of the frame. *Large higher resolution images may be viewed in Google+ and Mark Seibold Galleries at DP Review.
