Venus is rapidly approaching conjunction with the 'king star' Regulus, Leo in the Eastern Sky before Sunrise. Imaged late this morning 2014/09/03 at near 07:00am cdt (UT 12:00hrs) with Canon T4i, 240mm f5.6,iso 800, 1/15s closeup (~3d separation) and wider field 55mm f5.6, iso 800, 1/15s to include Jupiter above Venus. TheSkyXPro chart shows the wider field. Sep. 5th is conjunction morning at 0.8d separation with Venus N of Regulus.
