Details:
The Sun's chromosphere is putting on a fantastic show of crackling active regions, Sunspots and massive Filaments this week.
This image shows AR(s) 2127,2128, 2130 and 2131 in monochrome and color taken through a readily available narrowband solar telescope and camera.
The white areas indicate hotter plasma while the long black lines are cooler clouds of plasma being held aloft by magnetic field lines (filaments).
This area is pointing directly at Earth and may bring us more C,M and X class flares before it rotates back around to the other side.
There is still no better time to get involved with sharing solar astronomy!
