Details:
Well, it wasn't a mammoth display of NLC like the ones in Europe several hours earlier, but we'll take it! This NLC display sprang out of the northwest just after local midnight, around 0150 local time (0750 UT Jul 4), increasing rapidly in brightness, but staying only about a degree above the horizon. As dawn approached, more NLC could be seen to the north and northeast as foreground tropospheric cloud moved out of the way. Sony A65, 75-300mm, f/4.5-5.6, 2.5-8 second exposures with ISO 400.
