Details:
A huge space rock (a half a mile in diameter) is heading towards Earth at 20,000 mph. NASA has classified 1997 NC1 as a 'Potentially Hazardous Asteroid.' The asteroid will come closest to us on Saturday, June 27. I took this timelapse video from my backyard last night (Thursday, June 25).
Technical Details: ASI2600MC Pro camera, 15028HNT telescope, AM-5 mount (cause of the poor tracking), 10" exposures for 39min starting at 11:44pm EDT.
Note: the asteroid will miss us by 1,590,843 miles. No reason to worry.
