Details:
Here are two images taken moments apart at about 7:18 pm MST on February 14, with a Kp4-5 aurora underway with a classic arc of green with red vertical rays to the north. But to the south and crossing overhead was what looked like a grey arc to the eye but in photos showed as diffuse green blobs with a tinge of red. This is likely a proton aurora and an example of a RAGDA, a Red Arc with Green Diffuse Aurora. It was short-lived and was gone only 5 to 6 minutes later. One image is looking north, the other looking south but both extend up to the zenith. This was from southern Alberta, Canada. With a 10mm full-frame fish-eye lens.
