After 4 nights of cloud cover; the sky, forecast to be clear, frustration set in. Finally a clear sky on Sunday night. I searched for the comet for nearly one hour, checking the sky from constellation Bootes to the setting moon, and the comet was not found. Even my 15x70 binoculars didn’t find it when the comet was at magnitude 3.8, an easy target for dark skies, but Brooklyn has significant light pollution. I took numerous photos of the sky, hoping to capture the comet in one of the frames. I was not disappointed! I found the comet in an asterism of constellation Serpens. I followed the comet as it set over an apartment building. The first photo is of the comet in Serpens with an aircraft flying above. The second photo shows the comet setting over the building.
