Details:
We took advantage of the total lunar eclipse to take a deep image of Comet 3I/ATLAS under the dark skies of Namibia. The 14x120 blue, 4x120 green, and 4x120 red images show a gas-rich coma of 2' for the first time. The coma is clearly visible in both the blue and green images. The blue and red images show the 70" tail better than the green image. 3I/ATLAS 2025-09-07 18.02-18.40 UT 12"/3.6 Asi 6200 2x2 bin m1-13m8 coma 2' tail 70" pa 104 Farm Tivoli, Namibia Gerald Rhemann, Michael Jäger Image 1 RGB 14x120 blue 4x120 green 4x120red Image 2 14x120sec blue Image 3 4x120 green
